We ask for a donation for attendance at field and certain other events and suggest R100 for adults and R20 for children 11 years and younger, with the option of donating R300 PER FAMILY for an annual subscription in July each year.

Some venues will also require an entrance fee which must be paid by each individual. 

For field trips we will supply vials, magnifiers, plastic pill bottles and some other basic collecting equipment, but please bring your own if you have as well as any reference books, a picnic lunch, adequate water, a hat and good walking shoes.

  • Assist with curating the National Collection of Arachnida

    We have offered the services of The Spider Club to help at the National Collection of Arachnida, Arachnology Section of the Plant Protection Research Institute at Roodeplaat campus. This will probably consist of topping up vials where the alcohol has evaporated and other “housekeeping” tasks. Bring your own picnic lunch. Booking essential - limited numbers.
