We ask for a donation for attendance at field and certain other events and suggest R100 for adults and R20 for children 11 years and younger, with the option of donating R300 PER FAMILY for an annual subscription in July each year.

Some venues will also require an entrance fee which must be paid by each individual.

For field trips we will supply vials, magnifiers, plastic pill bottles and some other basic collecting equipment, but please bring your own if you have as well as any reference books, a picnic lunch, adequate water, a hat and good walking shoes.

Spider walk at ARC grounds

21 November 2021 @ 8:30 am - 2:00 pm

Spider walk in the grounds of the ARC (Agricultural Research Council) Roodeplaat, followed by a quick tour of the Arachnology section, the National Collection of Arachnida, and a chat to the scientists.

The extensive grounds consist of thick, natural bush, open grassy areas, a koppie, dams, fields, old and new buildings and a network of roads and footpaths. We plan to actually collect and will explore the undeveloped “wild” parts of the grounds.

Booking is essential as we have to supply an attendance list to security. Book at

in**@sp********.za

or send a message to Jarrod on 067 833 2191.

When booking please give us your cell phone number and we will set up a WhatsApp group for the event.

Directions will be supplied when booking is confirmed.
