We ask for a donation for attendance at field and certain other events and suggest R100 for adults and R20 for children 11 years and younger, with the option of donating R300 PER FAMILY for an annual subscription in July each year.
Some venues will also require an entrance fee which must be paid by each individual.
For field trips we will supply vials, magnifiers, plastic pill bottles and some other basic collecting equipment, but please bring your own if you have as well as any reference books, a picnic lunch, adequate water, a hat and good walking shoes.

Spider walk at Norscot Koppies and Kingfisher Nature Reserve

Join us for a spider walk at Norscot Koppies and Kingfisher Nature Reserve – 16 ha. of nature in the heart of the northern suburbs in Fourways, Johannesburg.
Directions: From the N1 William Nicol offramp, drive towards Montecasino/Fourways and go left at the first intersection into Leslie Road. After about 800 metres, turn right at the four-way-stop into Westway Road. Continue to the end of Westaway: at the T-Junction with Alexander Avenue you will see the entrance to Norscot Koppies on the opposite side of the road. GPS Coordinates are: -26.0321955, 27.9952897,15
We charge R50 per adult and R12 per child under 12 CASH ONLY to attend these events. We will supply a limited amount of collecting equipment, such as vials, sweepnets and reference books, but if you have your own, please bring them. We will also have eye glasses (magnifiers) at R55.00 and sweep nets at R80.00 for sale, again CASH ONLY.
Please remember to wear a hat and strong shoes, carry enough water and if you need them, snacks. If you want to stay longer in the reserve, bring a picnic lunch. We know you will abide by the regulations of JCPZ (Joburg City Parks & Zoo) and those of the Spider Cub and that you will take any litter away with you.
Remember to wear your mask and keep to social distancing.
