Korsman Bird Sanctuary
24 January 2016 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
R50
We’ll be kicking off the start of this year by visiting a beautiful bird sanctuary in Benoni searching both the ground and sky.
Meet at 8 a.m. opposite 92 The Drive, Westdene, Benoni where we can park. It is corner of The Drive and Kilfernora Road.
Please bring your own picnic lunch, water, hat, etc., and very important WELLIES BOOTS or be prepared to get wet and muddy feet! Also bring any collecting equipment you may have, we will have some vials and a microscope.
Afterwards for the identification and picnic we will just walk over the road to our Vice-chairman’s home, very convenient, no driving. He has a big veranda and lovely garden. Westdene is a gated suburb and entries are on Sher Road, Sunny Road and Sunnyside Avenue. Directions take the Atlas Road offramp M43 Boksburg, southbound from the N12 (going towards Witbank). Here’s a map and if you get lost call our hostess Jane Trembath on 082 690 2832.
R50 per person for non-paid-up members.
Book at info@spiderclub.co.za or SMS 073-168-7187.
Keep your eyes on your e-mail and our Facebook page as other events may be organised, sometimes at short notice. We will attempt to give you fair warning. And remember that Norman Larsen is at the Cape Union Mart Adventure Centre, Canal walk in Cape Town every Saturday 11h00–12h00 to demonstrate and talk about SPIDERS!
