We ask for a donation for attendance at field and certain other events and suggest R100 for adults and R20 for children 11 years and younger, with the option of donating R300 PER FAMILY for an annual subscription in July each year.

Some venues will also require an entrance fee which must be paid by each individual. 

For field trips we will supply vials, magnifiers, plastic pill bottles and some other basic collecting equipment, but please bring your own if you have as well as any reference books, a picnic lunch, adequate water, a hat and good walking shoes.

Spider identification course

A one-day spider identification course with the ARC arachnology team at the Agricultural Research Council in Roodeplaat, Pretoria. Use a microscope and learn the basic skills for spider identification.

We’re running two courses in June: Sunday, 5 June and Sunday, 26 June. Both 08h30 for 09h00 to 15h00.

Costs: R100 for adults and R50 for children under 12.
