We ask for a donation for attendance at field and certain other events and suggest R100 for adults and R20 for children 11 years and younger, with the option of donating R200 PER FAMILY for an annual subscription in July each year.
Some venues will also require an entrance fee which must be paid by each individual.
For field trips we will supply vials, magnifiers, plastic pill bottles and some other basic collecting equipment, but please bring your own if you have as well as any reference books, a picnic lunch, adequate water, a hat and good walking shoes.

Ruimsig Butterfly Reserve
5 March 2017 @ 8:45 am - 12:00 pmR50
Meet at main gate corner Stallion and Equestrian Roads, Ruimsig. -28.080223, 27.854010 or 280 4’48.802” S 270 51’14.436 E. There are no toilet or other facilities, no paths, no picnic spots but the reserve is as near as possible pristine Gauteng Granite Grassland and full of all sorts of delightful invertebrates, including spiders. The grass seeds are ripe so I suggest you either don’t wear socks or if you do wear socks cover them with gaiters or be prepared to chuck them out afterwards. No entrance fee. Book with Astri on firstname.lastname@example.org or cell 073-168-7187
Keep your eyes on your e-mail and our Facebook page as other events may be organised, sometimes at short notice. We will attempt to give you fair warning. And remember that Norman Larsen is at the Cape Union Mart Adventure Centre, Canal walk in Cape Town every Saturday 11h00–12h00 to demonstrate and talk about SPIDERS!
