We charge for attendance at field and certain other events:
R50 per adult and R10 per child 11 years and under with the option of paying R150 PER FAMILY for annual subscription.
Some venues will also require an entrance fee which must be paid by each individual.
For field trips we will supply vials, magnifiers, plastic pill bottles and some other basic collecting equipment but please bring your own if you have as well as any reference books, a picnic lunch, adequate water, a hat and good walking shoes.

The Leroy’s garage, Lodge 4, Boophane Lodges, 450 Anne Road, Ruimsig (It’s quite a nice garage!) If you feel you can confidently identify spiders to family and genus level from photographs this is for you. It will be a great test of your identification skills. Hosted by the SANParks Honorary Rangers (SHR), Pretoria Region and celebrated on 29 July 2017. The venue for this year is the South African National Botanical Gardens in Pretoria. Help to create an arachnid list for Capricorn Business Park, which is in the Muizenberg East Conservation Cluster. The species lists for this area are fairly sparse, with nothing for arachnids. The area is being built according to very strict environmental guidelines and is managed as close to a natural environment as possible. Spider Walk in Rietfontein Ridge Nature Reserve, 138 Holkam Road, Paulshof, Sandton 26º01’47.6”S 28º02’21.7”E / -26.029877, 28.039357. The reserve belongs to Joburg City Parks and Zoo and is about 24km north of the city centre.
